Front Row Seats

Updated: Oct 7, 2020

Lola Grace Bridal snagged front row seats to this season's Atlanta Bridal Market and Fashion Show. This is an exciting week in the bridal fashion world where top designers bring their fresh new collections to strut down the runways. If you have ever wondered how bridal shops select their upcoming season's inventory this is your insider story! The market is a bridal and fashion lovers dream. Amongst rows and rows of meticulously designed displays are experts in the field answering all your questions and offering opportunities to learn about the industry.

Our first stop was Maggie Sottero, a well-known name in the industry for designing gorgeous gowns with an impeccable fit. We slipped into our seats just in time to catch the first model begin her walk down the runway. The designs are stunning – romantic lace, sexy illusion backs, figure flattering corsets and sparkling bead-work. We were even treated to a show debuting their inaugural line, Rebecca Ingram.

We made our way around the market stopping in to meet reps, attend shows and seminars. Justin Alexander and Maritza were a couple of our favorites. Most designers have models on hand to try on any gown or accessory you want to see. Just like we say in the boutique, you can’t judge a dress on the hangar. You’ve got to see it in action!

To top off our first day, we made our way into the heart of the building and joined the high-energy crowd gathering in the atrium. The stage and surrounding décor were impeccably designed to resemble an ethereal forest. The main event, the Vow Fashion Show, was about to begin. Our front row seats delightfully complement the theme with rustic curved wood backs placed on green grass about halfway down the runway. Every seat in the atrium is taken; there is standing room only in the back. Photographers make final tweaks to their cameras and the audience anxiously chatters about the day’s adventures.

The music begins and provides a perfect cadence for what’s to come. One after another, the most beautiful designs make their way down the runway: men in perfectly tailored tuxedos, women in romantic dresses, funky frocks, glamour gowns and even sweet faced flower girls proudly showing off dresses that have turned them into a princess for the night. As the show ends the crowds linger grabbing drinks with clients and bites with friends. We finally make our way downtown for dinner and soon after, to bed. As the lights of Atlanta twinkle at the end of my bed, I fall asleep, excited to do it all again tomorrow.

Check out the video and pictures below to experience the show from our point of view!

Wishing you all the best!
